Q: Tell me why using translation software will not do?

A: If you want "Je donne ma langue au chat" to be translated "I give my tongue to the cat" (instead of "I cannot guess, I give up") or "It is raining cats and dogs" to be translated "Il pleut des chats et des chiens" instead of "Il tombe des cordes" or "Il pleut à verse", it is up to you.

True, high-end translation software is used at the United Nations and the European Commission, but only as a first step. Professionals have to intervene to give the text its final form and true meaning. The computer can only recognize entries already present in its memory and is incapable of interpreting the meaning of a phrase.
